UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez Coming Up
The Ultimate Fighting Championship pits two early candidates for Fight of The Year against one another and puts a shot at the world heavyweight title on the line in the main event.
On Saturday, February 20, 2010, fans the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia will witness a bone-crushing UFC 110 main event as undefeated newcomer Cain Velasquez challenges Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, a former PRIDE and UFC champion.
Nogueira enters the fight at 6′ 3″ (191 cm) and 240 lbs. (109 kg) against Velasquez’s 6′ 1″ (185 cm) and 240 lbs. (109 kg). That matches them perfectly on weight, though the veteran fighter has two full inches on the young contender. Nogueira’s record going into UFC 110 is 32-5-1, 1 NC.
Just as exciting is the UFC 110 main card battle between Michael “The Count” Bisping of the UK and the legendary Wanderlei “Axe Murderer” Silva in his UFC middleweight debut.
Silva comes in at 5′ 11″ (180 cm) and 185 lbs. (84 kg) with 32-10-1, 1 NC record.
While Bisping is 6′ 2″ (188 cm) and 185 lbs. (84 kg) with a 19-2-0 record, making for another even match in weight, but with an even bigger gap in height.
