Formula 1 Racing Season Kicks Off
The F1 car racing season is upon us again, with the first race of the year have just taken place last weekend and many more ahead.
The first race of this Formula 1 Racing season went to Fernando Alonso, a multi-time world champion who was making his debut in this race as a driver for Ferrari. He completed the 49 laps in 1 hour, 39 minutes, 20.396 seconds. Only 5,976.5 seconds separated him from second place winner Felipe Massa and only 5,983.6 seconds ahead of third placer Lewis Hamilton.
Alonso also clocked the fastest lap at 1:58.287, but pole position went to Vettel with 1:54.101.
The next Formula 1 race up is the Australian Grand Prix happening March 28th. There are three practice trials leading up to the race—two on the 26th and one on the 27th. Also on the 27th is the qualifying trial.
Current standings heading into that race are obviously Alosno (25 pts), Massa (18 pts), and Hamilton (15 pts) at the top of the list, followed closely by Sebastian Vettel (12 pts), Nico Rosberg (10 pts), Michael Schumacher (8 pts), Jenson Button (6 pts), Mark Webber (4 pts), Vitantonio Liuzzi (2 pts), Rubens Barrichello (1pt).
